Manufacturing 12-Step process
Hot Forging

The primary forming process for large-diameter fasteners (M36 and above). Steel bar is heated by induction to forging temperature, then pressed in precision dies to form bolt heads, nut hexagonal, and complex geometries. Hot forging preserves the material grain structure, producing fasteners with superior tensile strength compared to machined equivalents. Asia Bolts’ hot forging line handles diameters from M36 to M160.
Thread Rolling

Thread rolling is a cold-forming process where hardened dies displace material to form threads — without removing metal chips. This produces threads with a continuous grain flow, resulting in 20–30% higher fatigue strength than cut threads. Asia Bolts uses industrial thread rolling machines producing metric (DIN 975/976), UNC, UNF, and 8UN thread profiles to ASME B1.1 tolerances. Rolled threads are smoother, stronger, and more accurate than cut threads — the industry standard for critical B7 and B8 stud bolts.
Thread Cutting

Thread cutting uses hardened single-point or multi-point cutting tools on CNC lathes and threading machines to machine external and internal threads directly into the workpiece. Used for non-standard thread profiles, very large diameters, special pitches (ACME, trapezoidal), and materials not suitable for rolling. Asia Bolts’ 14-station thread cutting capability covers diameters from M6 to M160 in any thread form including BSPP, BSPT, NPT, and left-hand threads for custom applications.
CNC Lathe Machining

Precision turning at the core of our custom fastener manufacturing. Our CNC lathe centres produce cylindrical components — spacers, bushings, precision rods, and turned fastener bodies — to tight repeatable tolerances from prototype to full production. In-process gauging ensures consistent dimensions. Capable of machining carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel 304/316, duplex, and exotic alloys including Monel and Inconel. Tolerances held to ±0.01mm on critical dimensions.
Bending & Forming

Cold bending of rod and bar stock to manufacture J-bolts, L-bolts, U-bolts, eye bolts and foundation anchor bolts to precise angles. Our CNC-controlled bending machines produce consistent bend angles of 90°, 180° and custom configurations with tight dimensional tolerances. In-process gauging ensures correct embedment depth and projection length for structural anchoring applications. Custom bend configurations manufactured to customer drawings with no minimum order quantity.
Chamfering

Precision chamfering of bolt ends, stud ends and rod tips to facilitate thread engagement and installation speed on-site. Lead chamfers machined to DIN 78 and ASME B18.2.1 standards — typically 15°–30° included angle. Chamfering is performed as a secondary operation after thread rolling or cutting, ensuring burr-free, sharp-edged entry that meets assembly-line and field installation requirements. Available on all carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless and exotic alloy fasteners.
Welding & Fabrication

In-house welding capability for special fastener assemblies — weld nuts, shear studs, anchor cages, and fabricated bolt assemblies. Asia Bolts’ certified welders perform MIG, TIG, and spot welding operations on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel components. Weld stud assemblies are proof-tested to application load requirements. Custom weldments manufactured to customer drawings. All welding performed to AWS D1.1 and ISO 9692 standards with full documentation and weld procedure qualification records (WPQRs) available.
Punching

Precision punching creates bolt holes, cotter pin holes, and slotted features in fastener heads, plates, and flanges using hardened punch and die sets. Asia Bolts’ punching operations produce clean, burr-free holes with precise positional accuracy — critical for castle nuts (slotted), cotter pin holes in shackles, and custom anchor plates with bolt pattern drilling. Hole diameters from 3mm to 50mm punched in carbon steel, stainless, and alloy plate up to 25mm thickness. All punched holes 100% gauged before despatch.
Plasma Cutting

CNC plasma cutting handles precision profile cutting of steel plates and bar stock for anchor plates, base plates, and custom fabricated components used with anchor bolt assemblies. Asia Bolts’ CNC plasma cutting table produces intricate geometries with clean, precise cut edges across plate thicknesses from 3mm to 100mm — eliminating the need for secondary grinding in most applications. Consistent in-house inspection guarantees clean edges and precise dimensions meeting customer DXF drawings and engineering tolerances.
Saw Cutting

High-speed industrial saw cutting prepares raw material — steel bars, rod, and plate — to precise blank lengths before forging, machining, and threading operations. Asia Bolts’ semi-automatic industrial saws cut multiple rods simultaneously, ensuring consistent blank lengths critical to downstream dimensional accuracy. Capable of cutting bar stock from M6 (6mm) to M160 (160mm) diameter in carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless-steel grades. Tight length tolerances (±0.5mm) prevent material waste and ensure efficient downstream processing.
Heat Treatment

Heat treatment is the process that defines the mechanical properties of finished fasteners — hardness, tensile strength, yield strength, and impact toughness. Asia Bolts’ controlled-atmosphere furnaces perform quench and temper (Q&T), stress relief, and annealing operations on alloy steel fasteners. ASTM A193 B7 stud bolts require mandatory quench and temper heat treatment to achieve minimum 125 ksi tensile strength — our furnaces are calibrated to AMS 2750 pyrometry standards. Full heat treatment records accompany every MTC certificate.
Surface Treatment & Coating

Hot-Dip Galvanizing: ISO 1461 / ASTM A153, 45–85 micron. Zinc Electroplating: ASTM B633, 5–25 micron, clear or yellow passivate. Dacromet / Geomet: 8–10 micron, no hydrogen embrittlement — preferred for high-tensile grade fasteners. PTFE / Xylan Coating: 25–50 micron, FDA-approved grades available, torque-tension controlled. Black Oxide: MIL-DTL-13924. Each coating supplied with dimensional compliance report and coating thickness certificate.
